Peeling bonded furniture

Bought this set with insurance. first chair peeled and had to be moved to a bedroom with couch cover. Now the couch and love seat are peeling. No way I should be paying for furniture this soon with no kids in my home. There is no way I should be shopping around for new furniture the set itself is nice but the upholstery is like a plastic garbage bag. I want to be compensated for this I even purchased a warranty and never received a credit because a claim was not put in. I paid 1600.00 in total for this set and I feel as though I need to be reimbursed. I expected to have this set for years since my children were grown and have left the home.

When notified about the falsely advertised product they simply said take it back to the store and return. I told them that the store was 35 miles and almost an hour away from me. I was basically spending almost 2 hours and driving 70 miles because they screwed up and they will do nothing about it. I asked them to pick up the item from my house, "they refused". I asked them to send a bigger one and a return receipt for the smaller one, "they refused". I asked them to credit my account, "they refused". I will never buy from them again.

Value City - Warranty is a joke!!!!

I called to make a claim after having our sofa for only 2 years. There was a rip in the sofa and when they asked me when it happened I said about a month ago.

She said it will not be covered because I needed to call within 15 days of the damage!! What does that matter?? It was around Christmas when it happened and I was very busy so I waited to call. It was a matter of life or death so I waited until I had time to set up an appointment.

What a joke!!! The warranty is for 5 years!!! What difference does it make when I call as long as it is within the 5 years!! She told me to read the warranty brochure but I never got one when I purchased it.

The salesman at Value City said all I needed was my receipt. I will never purchase a warranty from this company again or buy anything from Value City again.

It doesnt matter when you call them they will deny your claims anyway. they will twist it and no matter what the repair guy says they will change it to accommodate them and deny the claim thats what they did to mine

My 93 year old Mother purchased a red sofa from value city on 11/2013. The red coating began flaking off approximatley 2+ year later and progressively got worse.

I read some articles online and appears this flaking happened frequently with some of their products. I called value city and told them about the problem. They sent a technician to moms home to inspect and take pictures. She was later contacted and offered a $80 refund if she brought the sofa back to value city.

The sofa originally cost 399.00 plus tax.

Nice customer service. You should be ashamed Merrillville Indiana Value ***

Motor failed first use

We purchased 5 theatre chairs and dining room table. They delivered and set up, when reclining the first chair the motor broke.

We called that day for service and they came out the next day and said they would call us the next day. They didn’t call until the following day, we read online this type of failure is common. We asked to return the recliners and were told they can’t pick up for 19 day from now. We read they will only refund purchase price if returned in 7 days.

This is a game they play to get out of refunding. Please don’t fall for their rip off games.

Time to post as many times as I need to. I will get my refund one way or another.

When I purchased my what it said was leather sofa set i fell in love with it, 3 years later I see where its peeling along the seams and small spots on the seats. I called value city up with my receipt number because the warranty that they tell you will cover your furniture for 5 years told me that it doesnt cover peeling, only if it peels within 15 days of purchase. When i called Value City the young lady I spoke with told me to email the store to see what they can do and someone will get back with me on Monday...I have not gotten a reply back so from anyone at store 129 in Richmond, Va so I will definitely not be buying anything else from there and will encouraging others as well, especially that bogus warranty!!

Less than a year of purchasing my sectional couch the seating/cushioning was no longer level. It became like a hump. I called the store and the only option i was given was to send someone out to look at it, then scheduled for pick up for that one piece of the sectional to have it restuffed. I pleaded to have swapped out & that was refused. Upon return it was no longer level (puffier) with the other pieces and I voiced that and nothing was done. Months later another piece has done the same thing. I put it off and another piece has done the same thing and avoiding dealing with the poor customer service i did nothing. Now it is a year later and unfortunately the store can now say oh well you are now past our store warranty "1 year". I was referred to the warranty company who then tells me that is not something they cover at all. Who then refers me to corporate for VCF. Well after wasting my time on the phone with corporate for them to tell me there's nothing they can do about it, try to call the warranty company back. I have a life I don't have time to sit on the phone for hours to not have my issues resolved, I am just having to take it as a loss. Just fyi, I don't have company and don't spend a lot of time sitting on my furniture, either way there is NO reason this should happen to furniture at any time and especially in this short span of time....VCF has poor customer service and they only sell the warranty to get bonuses, not actually to stand behind their product. Poor quality furniture.

I purchased a mechanical couch "pulsar" and a beauty rest silver full sized gulf shores matress. I paid for both items in full.

At the checkout area they screwed up my order a couple of times with wrong pricing, not adding warranties, and forgetting what sized bed I was getting with a boxspring which was also forgotten(not to mention the free shipping due to hitting a certain price point the qualified for it). So they gave me a small discount for their being *** and not getting my order correct. Then I set up the delivery date and was garenteed everything was in stock at another location (lie). The matress was never ordered and was considered out of stock (I was pisssssed).

Then they screwed up my delivery date for the furniture (to be delivered on the same day). The matress and box spring had to be set for a separate date. As part of the customer satisfaction, they gave me a discount put back to my card to satisfy my anger. Now as of July 17th 2017, I tried to return within the 30 day time period the matress and box spring (delivery)which is causing me back pain.

They now claim that because I accepted the refunds, I no longer qualify for any return for credit back to my card, nor do I get an exchange because the price after the discounts does not qualify. ***!!!! Lawsuit here we come!! I spent close to 3grand there!!!!!

The back of the reciept did say say if the items were not removed from the plastic they were delivered in, then a refund within the 7 days of delivery is honored. Who even leaves the plastic on(which was cut by the delivery service anyways with or without your permission).

It amazes me why there isn't a billion dollar lawsuit set against them yet from all the clients ever screwed by them??? I'm gunna set mine so high that everyone gets their $ back...

They gave me a mattress I didn't order for almost 2500 and refused to take the hard firm matress back when I clearly ordered plush. They wouldn't take table warranty to fix cracks and my couch wood broke and had to be repaired within one year.

I am so glad I read the reviews for VCF before going there tomorrow to buy a leather sectional. I'll stick with Douds.

I know the quality of their service and the products that they sell. I've been looking for a Navy leather sectional and I saw they had several and I really loved the look of them. But, after reading these reviews, WOW no way.

So glad I research and read reviews before buying. Thanks to everyone for their reviews.

Yes avoid VCF like a Venereal disease, if your furniture breaks or leather peels the warranty will not cover it.

I am the one who just wrote the above post. After confronting the manager of that shift on July 17 2017, he told me to f@#$ off and told me he would call the cops to throw me out of his store if I didn't leave.

All I was asking for was a refund (4 times) after only owning the beauty rest silver gulf shores mattress and box spring for 30 days. I purchased and have been using the recommended slip cover to honor the 120 night trial given with the mattress.

I am so pissed now that they threatened the cops on me. I am consulting with a couple lawyers as is.

We furnished nearly our Entire Home with Value City

This past Spring we received amazing new on the Closing for our New home and furniture shopping was to follow. We looked forward to having an entire year to shop and order the furniture that would be the perfect match to our new home. We decided to visit Value City and was pleasantly surprised to see a full showroom with a great selection of furniture with great prices. Our Sales Associate was awesome and we made good choices on the entire home including 4 couches, Headboards, ottomans, chairs, kitchen table/chairs. Thousands of dollars later, we had our whole place staged. The order process appeared easy and we were told delivery would take place the following season nearly a year beyond giving the company ample time. The order was taken, furniture was billed and paid and we patiently awaited our move. Once moving we let Value know 3 months prior to set up delivery. We received many texts and calls letting us know the time frame for our furniture to arrive. The delivery date came and we were excited to see our new furniture and was told the exact day prior that the kitchen set and chairs would be delayed, one week. We were eager but understanding as we were told something was damaged in shipping. One week later again another call that the piece could not be delivered as we were on a out of town schedule that only receives delivery once a month, then another call stating the chairs would be arriving but not the table, then another call that they were arriving on December 11th. In the meantime, we had one item to be exchanged due to to color and was told again that another piece would be ordered and exchanged with the table and chairs arrived. Again another call that this date needed to be pushed back as again there was not delivery option for this until January. We honestly love the furniture, but the delivery process, customer service confusion is beyond my patience at this point. We are happy to report we NOW have our table after 1 year worth of ordering and the Ottoman is scheduled for January. Lets see if that actually happens! If you can pick up yourself and cash and carry I believe there is value there, otherwise FORGET the delivery option.

Fake coverage (Pure Promise)

I have been promised coverage for my furniture I bought from Value City Furniture. I paid more than $500 for 5 years coverage.

A year later, I claimed the coverage in order to clean chairs and couches, and they told me that my claim cannot executed because my policy does not cover my claim. Moreover, they took months to responds to respond to my claim. Please, future buyers of Value City Furniture do not let them steal your poor income earned by working hard. It is just a fake coverage.

The set of dinning table I bought is now in bad condition. All the couches are dirty, and they are not willing to clean them up.

Sounds like you want someone to clean your furniture after a year of normal use, or perhaps abnormal use. Most of these extra warranties don't cover normal wear and tear.

Actually, buying these warranties for anything is a waste of money. Never buy them for much of anything is the rule. All they do is put money into the pocket of the retailer and the firm supposedly backing the warranty. All in all a good deal for someone---other than the consumer.

And, tell your kids to stay off the couch with their shoes and with chocolate on their hands, etc. Also, keep Fido off the furniture.

I purchased a storage bed & chest 4/12/17. Cost $1120.

Was told bed would come 5/19 & chest on 6/13. I asked that both come on 6/13. Because I would be out of town on 5/19. The salesman said no problem.

I received a call on 6/9, from delivery people, that I will only receive the headboard & bed base. The storage drawers out of stock until 7/28! And the chest was scheduled for 6/16! So, I call the store I purchased it from.

Mgr said I will send u an email with a compensation amt in it. She never has. On 6/16 th furniture comes. It's the chest with *** in the back & a bed NOTHING like the one I ordered.

( I was at work when it came) I called the store I purchased from & was rudely spoken to. I called the delivery store & she tried to make it right. She got the other store to comp me $100. I was discouraged from just canceling order by her telling me it takes a really long time to get your refund!??

She said they would pick it up today. 6/19. I received an email with a survey in it & I blasted them. The Mgr at the purchasing store said she saw it & I can't get any more money off.

Wtf I didn't order $1100 worth of furniture to wait 3 months & then try to get money off! She didn't even realize I got a bed no one even knew was delivered because the delivery guys left no paperwork! Which means she never really read the entire survey comment or she would've seen that. She said there is no record that this stuff was scheduled to be picked up today.

She will call me back. I will NEVER buy anything from VCF again. Unless it is at a going out of business sale, it's cheap & I can take it with me!

when you order from value city furniture always come damaged.The delivery person took pictures in my house without asking , i said that's rude, disrespectful .I felt violated after he took pictures in my home ,I said you can only take pictures of the damage pieces .When you call customer service nothing is being done to resolve your issue , they call to the store and say well the store said customer service is a joke .Make sure you check your furniture.
