Value City - Warranty is a joke!!!!
I called to make a claim after having our sofa for only 2 years. There was a rip in the sofa and when they asked me when it happened I said about a month ago.
She said it will not be covered because I needed to call within 15 days of the damage!! What does that matter?? It was around Christmas when it happened and I was very busy so I waited to call. It was a matter of life or death so I waited until I had time to set up an appointment.
What a joke!!! The warranty is for 5 years!!! What difference does it make when I call as long as it is within the 5 years!! She told me to read the warranty brochure but I never got one when I purchased it.
The salesman at Value City said all I needed was my receipt. I will never purchase a warranty from this company again or buy anything from Value City again.

Flaking Sofa
My 93 year old Mother purchased a red sofa from value city on 11/2013. The red coating began flaking off approximatley 2+ year later and progressively got worse.
I read some articles online and appears this flaking happened frequently with some of their products. I called value city and told them about the problem. They sent a technician to moms home to inspect and take pictures. She was later contacted and offered a $80 refund if she brought the sofa back to value city.
The sofa originally cost 399.00 plus tax.

Motor failed first use
We purchased 5 theatre chairs and dining room table. They delivered and set up, when reclining the first chair the motor broke.
We called that day for service and they came out the next day and said they would call us the next day. They didn’t call until the following day, we read online this type of failure is common. We asked to return the recliners and were told they can’t pick up for 19 day from now. We read they will only refund purchase price if returned in 7 days.
This is a game they play to get out of refunding. Please don’t fall for their rip off games.
Time to post as many times as I need to. I will get my refund one way or another.
Peeling "So called" leather furniture...
When I purchased my what it said was leather sofa set i fell in love with it, 3 years later I see where its peeling along the seams and small spots on the seats. I called value city up with my receipt number because the warranty that they tell you will cover your furniture for 5 years told me that it doesnt cover peeling, only if it peels within 15 days of purchase. When i called Value City the young lady I spoke with told me to email the store to see what they can do and someone will get back with me on Monday...I have not gotten a reply back so from anyone at store 129 in Richmond, Va so I will definitely not be buying anything else from there and will encouraging others as well, especially that bogus warranty!!

I am looking into a class action lawsuit against the mechanicsburg Pa location
I purchased a mechanical couch "pulsar" and a beauty rest silver full sized gulf shores matress. I paid for both items in full.
At the checkout area they screwed up my order a couple of times with wrong pricing, not adding warranties, and forgetting what sized bed I was getting with a boxspring which was also forgotten(not to mention the free shipping due to hitting a certain price point the qualified for it). So they gave me a small discount for their being *** and not getting my order correct. Then I set up the delivery date and was garenteed everything was in stock at another location (lie). The matress was never ordered and was considered out of stock (I was pisssssed).
Then they screwed up my delivery date for the furniture (to be delivered on the same day). The matress and box spring had to be set for a separate date. As part of the customer satisfaction, they gave me a discount put back to my card to satisfy my anger. Now as of July 17th 2017, I tried to return within the 30 day time period the matress and box spring (delivery)which is causing me back pain.
They now claim that because I accepted the refunds, I no longer qualify for any return for credit back to my card, nor do I get an exchange because the price after the discounts does not qualify. ***!!!! Lawsuit here we come!! I spent close to 3grand there!!!!!
The back of the reciept did say say if the items were not removed from the plastic they were delivered in, then a refund within the 7 days of delivery is honored. Who even leaves the plastic on(which was cut by the delivery service anyways with or without your permission).
It amazes me why there isn't a billion dollar lawsuit set against them yet from all the clients ever screwed by them??? I'm gunna set mine so high that everyone gets their $ back...

Fake coverage (Pure Promise)
I have been promised coverage for my furniture I bought from Value City Furniture. I paid more than $500 for 5 years coverage.
A year later, I claimed the coverage in order to clean chairs and couches, and they told me that my claim cannot executed because my policy does not cover my claim. Moreover, they took months to responds to respond to my claim. Please, future buyers of Value City Furniture do not let them steal your poor income earned by working hard. It is just a fake coverage.
The set of dinning table I bought is now in bad condition. All the couches are dirty, and they are not willing to clean them up.

Where is my furniture?
I purchased a storage bed & chest 4/12/17. Cost $1120.
Was told bed would come 5/19 & chest on 6/13. I asked that both come on 6/13. Because I would be out of town on 5/19. The salesman said no problem.
I received a call on 6/9, from delivery people, that I will only receive the headboard & bed base. The storage drawers out of stock until 7/28! And the chest was scheduled for 6/16! So, I call the store I purchased it from.
Mgr said I will send u an email with a compensation amt in it. She never has. On 6/16 th furniture comes. It's the chest with *** in the back & a bed NOTHING like the one I ordered.
( I was at work when it came) I called the store I purchased from & was rudely spoken to. I called the delivery store & she tried to make it right. She got the other store to comp me $100. I was discouraged from just canceling order by her telling me it takes a really long time to get your refund!??
She said they would pick it up today. 6/19. I received an email with a survey in it & I blasted them. The Mgr at the purchasing store said she saw it & I can't get any more money off.
Wtf I didn't order $1100 worth of furniture to wait 3 months & then try to get money off! She didn't even realize I got a bed no one even knew was delivered because the delivery guys left no paperwork! Which means she never really read the entire survey comment or she would've seen that. She said there is no record that this stuff was scheduled to be picked up today.
She will call me back. I will NEVER buy anything from VCF again. Unless it is at a going out of business sale, it's cheap & I can take it with me!

It doesnt matter when you call them they will deny your claims anyway. they will twist it and no matter what the repair guy says they will change it to accommodate them and deny the claim thats what they did to mine
