My furniture is messed up and they will not cover my claim. I am pissed.

I would never in my life shop at this place again I bought $5000 worth of furniture with a five year pre-promise warranty the plywood has crushed on the side of the arm of the couch, and these people will not cover this. Blows my mind their Warranty Service is a joke. Its a scam Will take this furniture and I will drop it off at the front door and they can have it dont ever in your life go to value city furniture to buy anything they will not cover anything

I was given a runaround from May 2023 to now January 2024 with rude customer service. Nobody is willing to actually assist and give right customer service. I have been fighting to get some type of service based off the warranty that I pay for in the manufacturer...

Original review Jan 30, 2024
I purchased furniture in February 2023 in May the cushion started to lose resiliency the corner piece of the sectional that I purchased started to sink down. They try to tell me this is a wear and tear issue within a four month process.

It didnt take years of having this furniture for to deform this way I dont even use the furniture as often for it to be aware and tear issue once contacting the store in the warehouse, putting in a warranty for which I pay for these kind of issues no service was done. They wont help me all they keep saying is theres nothing we can do about it thats just how the couch is but this disclaimer doesnt come on the couch when you purchase it so for those out there buying value city furniture beware that their furniture is trash.

They wont do anything to help you with their trashy furniture and theyre not putting disclaimers on their furniture. Thats gonna let you know that within a two month process, the furniture will begin to Kaven Fall apart all types of things and theres nothing that theyre willing to or want to do about it even if you pay for the expensive warranty that comes with it

At first they deliver a wrong 4 out of 10 chairs. Then they delivered the correct ones, But they looked used and dirty ...after that one (of the 10) chairs, and lone (,of the 2), launchers was damaged. So out of 12 (brend new)products, that we bought for holidays, we ended with 4 dirty/used, and 2 damaged ones.

Preferred solution: Replacement for damaged chairs, return of damaged launcher, and price reduction.

My complaint is on the supervisor. He was a male and cant remember his name but he was very unprofessional.

This is the one thats in waddles and hes supposed to have someone come out and look at our furniture because the socket was not working when we looked at the furniture in the store there wasnt no burnt hole on the furniture so we called back to the store to the manager he access do we want $200 back and they were take the furniture which I thought was very disrespectful as a cell as a managerand hes just very unprofessional in.

It was just crazy how he was talking to us and wasnt really trying to compromise with us and do anything I had to call a couple of times and then he supposed to suck someone out to look at it, and no one never came, so I actually got in contact with the other supervisor which was a lady and she was very helpful so shes having our furniture delivery. Hopefully it wont be a problem if its an issue when the furniture come again I will contact you guys again.

I picked up my furniture from St. Louis location. My recliner chair was damage at the bottom and the back pillowed part was the wrong fit. I was told to bring it back when the replacement comes in the store. Here is where Im at, they made the mistake, it is their responsibility to fix it. When I picked up my furniture, I thought it was what I order. They want to charge me to deliver my chair. I have to drag the damage chair back to location. I guess Im paying for their mistake. Never will I buy furniture from them again.

Poor management

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Value City is horrible. The furniture looks good but is garbage. I use to work there and quit because of how the employees and customers get treated. They get customers to buy warranties that they have a very hard time getting fixed or repaired just to make money. Management is absolutely horrible! They make up lies to get you where your not rehireable as well.

Problem with delivery

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

my couch was delivered to the wrong distribution center. Every week they tell me my Kouch is coming, but it hasn't even left the primary distribution center.

Everyone tells me that I talk to that they've emailed the distribution center. You can't call them. Obviously the distribution center isn't answering them because it's been seven weeks, since my couch was to be delivered. Every week I call and I get the same story.

Everybody is very nice but they can't do anything about the problem.

I've never seen such nice people not be able to do anything. It's very frustrating and I would never use this company again.

Purchased $10K worth of furniture on 12/23/23. We were told there was only one item that was back ordered and we should have everything by mid January. The furniture was scheduled for 1/23/24. On 1/19/24 they called to reschedule for 1/25/24. On 1/24/24 they called and wanted to reschedule again for 1/30/24. We had moved appointments around twice already. VCF really did not seem to care, so we cancelled the order. The assistant manger was not a lot of help and we are still waiting on a call from the actual manger.

Pure Promise Warranty

My husband and I purchased a 9-piece living room set in 2020, and we were convinced by the salesman to purchase the extended warranty for the fabric protection. I filed claims in 2020 for stitching that was coming out of my brand-new sofa and ottoman, and both were denied after the warranty company refused to cover anything.

They said its just loose stitching that I can cut myself and was promised that it would not eventually rip. I filed my 1st claim in 2022 and was denied since I didnt say it was accident tear. I filed 2 claims in 2023 and one was denied for not being covered. When I mentioned both claims are the same.

I was told that both should have been denied. They are very unprofessional, and they absolutely won't cover anything that you submit, it seems that they just want you to purchase the warranty but will not cover accidents, poor quality stitching etc. They didnt even bother to send out a Technician to look at the cushions for my 2nd claim. My claim was denied due to the pictures I submitted when I opened the claim(s).

When I called the Pure Promise the support people are not ready to listen anything and are very rude.

Throughout this process, no one was very helpful, and My issue is still not resolved, and I have to go through a lot of hoops to get the protection that I paid for when I made my purchase.

Pure promise warranty is a total scam promoted by salesman. While buying everything is covered when you make actual claim they come up with fine print and nothing is covered.
